Meet Jack Lime, a high school student at Iona High, who finds trouble every where he goes, or, maybe, trouble finds him. Jack Lime is a Private Detective, who wears disguises and hides in trash cans to solve his cases. This book, The Adventures of Jack Lime, contains 3 of his cases; The Case of the Broken Lock, The Case of the Daily Telegraph, and The Case of the Big Dupe. The first case has Jack Lime trying to find a bike, supposedly stolen from Ronnie Kutcher. The second case involves an abducted hamster being ransomed for completed homework assignments. With big time gambling and fake disappearances, the last case has Jack Lime literally running for his money. Jack Lime is a character most people can relate to, as are his clients. Each case has detailed descriptions and is jammed packed with adventure. The writing was in first person, which allowed the author, James Leck, to give “inside” information while Jack pursued his case.I would highly recommend this book to children age 10 and up, because the main character is a high school student and some scenes take place in the high school. If you like this book, I would also recommend the Sammy Keyes series, written by Wendelin Van Draanen. The Adventures of Jack LimeWritten by James LeckPublished by Kids Can Press126 pages
