Looking for the perfect family vacation or a taste of Mexico? Santa Fe, New Mexico may be your answer.

The best time to book your trip would probably be in September; (because that time of year is Fiesta time)! Fiesta is an annual Santa Fean festival that commemorates the reconquest of New Mexico by the Spaniards after the Pueblo Indian Revolt of 1680. It begins Thursday September 8 (this year) and lasts three days (and 4 nights).

Fiesta kicks off with the burning of Zozobra (Old Man Gloom), and then moves on to two full days of partying on the Plaza (the center of downtown Santa Fe), and finally ends with the pet parade (kids can participate pet or no pet) and the Historical/Hysterical Parade. For more information log onto www.santafenm.info/fiesta.htm.

I would recommend staying at the La Fonda or at Bishops Lodge; (the La Fonda is located on the plaza, and I would recommend it because it is a very cool historic building and it is located in the heart of Santa Fe). Bishops Lodge on the other hand is very secluded from Santa Fe but I would recommend it to people who want a relaxing vacation; it has horseback riding, hiking, a pool, a hot tub, and a spa. If you are looking for something cheaper I would recommend looking around for people who are renting apartments and houses.

If you love Mexican food, the food is amazing. I think the three best places to eat are Tia Sophia's, Tomasita's, and The Shed.

Tia Sophia's – Breakfast and Lunch – Monday-Saturday from 7:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Located – 210 W San Francisco

St.Tomasita's – Lunch and Dinner – Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Located – 500 S Guadalupe St.

The Shed – Lunch and Dinner – Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. Located – 113 and ½ E Palace Ave.

If you are looking for a souvenir I would recommend checking out the portal of the Palace of the Governors. It is located on the plaza and is a space where Native Americans can sell items that they make such as jewelry and pottery. I hope you have enjoyed my travel log and I hope it helped you a lot!
