I was born on the day when both the sun and the stars were in the sky. My name isWhite - feather, daughter of chief Strong -Buffalo and Brown - Deer with the gift of talking to wolfs. And I'm here to tell you my story.

My deer skin dress brushes against my dark skin as my little sister, Big - Eyes, grips my long black hair and sits on my wide hip as we follow our mother to go see the whole village and our relitives in the long house. Today is the day when I was born, so I'm now 14 winters old. Old enough to court. That is the real reason my parents arranged this pow wow, to find me a suitable husband.
