Greenwood Village Day- AWESOME FUN!
Contributed by: Davis Anderson   on 7/27/2008

Yesterday, I wrote a short little blog entry saying that I was going to Greenwood Village Day for the first time with my friends. I had no idea what to expect, so I couldn't write much. Now I've been there, and let me tell you, it was so much fun! Let's start!

Every year, there is a theme for Greenwood Village Day. This year, it was Aliens and Space! But there were also some things that didn't follow the theme.

Arts and Crafts:
There was a ton of things that you could make this year! I tried to do as many of them as I could. Here are the arts and crafts that you could do. Hand molding. The first thing I did was hand molding. You basically stuck your hand into a bottle filled with plaster, and let it sit for a while. I did a peace sign for mine. When I got home, I followed the instructions. It turns out that my hand was touching the sides of the bottles, so my fingers are thin and short on my plaster hand. Oh well! T-shirts. There was also a section where you could make your own t-shirt. You could choose from a green or white shirt, and then you got a bunch of paint, and started designing! Create your own spaceship. Also, there was a center where you could take a white design board, like a rocket or a planet. Then again, you took a bunch of paint and started designing! There were also more things that I didn't get to try like: Design a Rock, Make Your Own Rocket, Giant Paintings, and a little bit more I think. Now, on to the rides!

Rides:
I was really impressed with the rides at Greenwood Village Day. It's a local thing, so I wans't expecting anything good. But, I was blone away! These rides were a blast, and I tried to go on all of them.
The Berry Go Round. Ever been to Disney Land? Well if you have, you may have been on the Tea Cup ride. It's where you get in a tea cup and spin the disk in the center to make your cup spin faster. Same thing as the Berry Go Round. This ride is more designed for smalled kids. Swings. Again I'll ask, ever been to Disney Land. If so, you may have gone to the Disney owned park next door, California Adventures. There, there is a ride called the Orange Stinger. You got a swing, and brings you up above the ground, and spins you. Same idea for the swings, just not as high or fast. One I didn't go one was a rocket ship Merry go round. Super Slide. One great one was the Super Slide. It was this juge slide that went up really high! You took a sack and went up. When you got to the top, you and two other people would put your feet in the sack, and slide down. Another one I wasn't able to go on, was a Dragon Rollar Coaster. This ride is really short, but you go around the track twice. This ride is also designed for younger kids. The Hammer. The big, the bad, The Hammer! The hammer was a ride where it took you and one other person around and around. It took you up high, and then back down really fast. And in one point in the ride, it leaves you hanging upside down! This was my favorite thing to do at Greenwood Village Day, but the line was horrible!

Aftershow:
After everything had closed down, there was a band that was playing. I don't remember what they called themselves, but I did not like them very much. None of the songs they did were originals, and all they did was country, which I am not a big fan of. But then came the fireoworks! Those were pretty sweet! Lots of explosions! My friend and I sat right next to the boundry, so we had an awesome view!

I can't wait to go next year! I hope it will be just as fun as it was this year!
