Blog Entry 6 of 25 Emma's Random Blog
Hey, my name is Emma and this is my blog. I love lacrosse and baseball. I love those spoof motivational posters. I'm in seventh grade. I'm bad at prank calling people. I like to sing and I love Broadway. During Spring Break my cousin and I watched these ninja competitions in Japanese but they had subtitles so it was okay. I like food. In the battle between you and the world, bet on the world.

Peak 8 Bike Trails
Contributed by: Emma Carroll   on 8/15/2007

Grade: B+
(This grade applies to a trail by the name of Dwight's. It is influenced by skill level.)
Here's another entry on Breckinridge. Am I obsessed? Hardly. While my cousins were out, we decided to go biking down Peak 8 in Breckinridge on one of the trails. At the beginning, there was a little confusion about which trail was which, but we soon figured out were the different trails started. We decided to take a trail called Dwight's, which was a little more difficult than I had expected. I wasn't exactly prepared for the trail because I had never been down it before. I encourage you to challenge yourself and take a roll down the side of a mountain. Before you go, read my tips.
A few pointers:
*Have a mountain bike! This is extremely important. The trails aren't paved and have rocks, so make sure your bike is not a road bike.
*Make sure your bike is in good condition. You don't want your tires flat, so do a bike check before you go.
*It often storms in the afternoon, which means lightning. At some parts you will be one of the tallest things around, so start early enough that you won't get caught in a storm. Check the weather forecast.
*Be prepared for lots of rocks and very narrow trails. This depends on what trail you take, but be prepared anyway!
*Don't be afraid to walk your bike!
* You may fall, and if you do, try to jump away from your bike so that it doesn't land on you.
*Be aware of other riders on the trail and let them pass you.
*Look five feet ahead on the trail. It makes things easier. Way easier.
*Don't concentrate on the rocks. Try not to look at them. If you look at them, you will most likely hit them. This sounds weird, but it is true.
*Don't lose your way. Follow all signs that you see as you go down the mountain and stay on your trail until the end. You will get to the bottom.

So ride down a Peak 8 bike trail. You'll be glad you did it in the end.

"I wander aimlessly with some sort of aim."
