Pendragon, the Life of a "Traveler"
Contributed by: Tony Yin   on 9/4/2007

Grade: B+

"First Earth!" shouted Bobby Pendragon as he stood near the flume in which he can travel through time and enter worlds of great mystery. That is what Bobby; a fearless, kind, and amazing traveler has to do in order to stop Saint Dane from all of his evil plots. This one takes place inFirst Earth, or a treacherous time in 1937 where unlawful gangsters, swing music, and a brewing war is in the center stage. This time he'll have his loyal friend Spader of Cloral along with the kind and gentle traveler of First Earth Gunny. Saint Dane's evil plot this time is to change the whole earth by crashing Hindenburg in order to put all three territories of Earth into massive chaos. After failing the last two times, Saint Dane will do anything to get revenge on Bobby and his trustworthy friends. This is a battle readers simply can not miss.

This fast-paced, suspenseful, and intense story will definitely keep you reading from day to night. The non-stop plot and careful planning makes the story go along smoothly from one start to finish. Snappy conversations with pop-culture definitely make the story much more realistic with numerous interesting twists. The tension in the end of the book is so intense that it'll make you rejoice with story as righteousness and teamwork overcame the devil in Saint Dane. If you are into fantasy, then this book is a must read. Believe me, it is one of the better book in the series of Pendragon by D.J. MacHale.

I saw this author, D.J. MacHale at the Tattered Cover bookstore in Highlands Ranch two years ago. I have an autographed copy of "The Quillian Games" and he said that "The Never War" was one of his favorite books to write. Anyway, great review!
