I Stand~Idina Menzel

In the new pop album by Tony award-winning actress Idina Menzel, the songs seem to have a much more personal feeling than many other songs today. The Broadway actress--famous for her roles in Rent as Maureen Johnson and in Wicked as Elphaba, the misunderstood green girl--now dominates the musical world with her wonderful voice.After her first album in 1998 was quite un-successful, Idina began to act in movies andmusicals instead of making another album. When she became well known for her re-make of 'Defying Gravity', Idina gave recording another shot. And she succeeded.

The personality she put into the album shows and she has one magical voice. Her most popular song on I Stand is 'Brave'. The song, at first, seems like a typical love song. Something in the song raises it above that level; Idina sings about moving on and becoming 'brave'. This wonderful artist gets very personal when she talks about her new album and connects with her fans.

Idina rises above everyone else in pop music in I Stand and this wonderful album will amaze you. It amazed me.
