Dinosaur Pokemon
Contributed by: Mary Anne Porto on 12/4/2007

When I reviewed Fossil League Dino Championship, I found another great Pokemon. This game is a lot like Pokemon games, because you capture, feed, and raise your own creatures, but with dinosaurs. The game takes place in the future with time machines that take you to the past. You begin by naming your character. Your father leaves you his most precious fossil when he dies and he tells you to always keep it by your side. Then, you are left with a man named Dr. Smith, who cares for you in place of your father. He gives you your dino card which is enables you to time travel and use dinosaurs. Dr. Smith studies plants from the past. You travel with him to the early Jurassic period to collect some and on the way; you find your first dinosaur and battle others. You meet the evil Miura and travel with a friend, Yukari, when Miura attempts to steal the fossil and breaks it into seven pieces that scatter over time periods. You and Yukari travel to other time periods and look for the missing pieces. Miura has other members in his team, the X, and they do evil things to get rid of the fossil.

I like this game, but don't like the camera. Sometimes when your character is walking, they walk in your direction, so you can't see when dinosaurs are ready to attack. Unlike in Pokemon, to capture a dinosaur, you weaken it and feed it special food which you get from treasure chests everywhere. This game is for DS and I recommend it for kids 8-12. It's a lot of fun, and I think you'll really like it.
