Bolt: Coming to DVD and Blue Ray Lightning Fast
Contributed by: Chase Hoven on 4/26/2009

Disney and Pixar's latest animation movie Bolt has arrived on DVD. Join superstar Bolt, a tough alley cat named Mittens and Bolt's number one fan Rhino (who also happens to be a hamster) as they must travel across the country in search of Bolt's owner Penny, who has been kidnapped by the Green-Eyed Man. The story not only reflects how Bolt realizes what his life is about, but it also symbolizes the meaning of friendship between a dog,cat and a hamster.

Bolt is a dog that stars on his own hit TV show. Millions adore him as their hero, but things are not what they seem. Bolt believes everything is real, and he does not know that technology stands in the way of his super powers. But when Penny, Bolt's owner and co-host, gets kidnapped, Bolt must find a way to save her. Bolt also doesn't realize that Penny is alright, and he is accidentally shipped all the way across the country in search of her. Along the way, he meets up with Mittens and Rhino, who help him make his way back to Hollywood.

Though the movie is targeted toward little kids, I still found myself laughing along with Bolt and the gang. The DVD and Blue Ray both include special features which include the making of the movie, voicing the characters of Bolt, and deleted scenes. Both include a special segment called 'Super Rhino' as well. This hilarious clip shows Rhino, the biggest fan of Bolt ever, having super powers like Bolt has in the TV series. He has taken charge to destroy the Green-Eyed Man so that Penny and Bolt can be safe from his evil clutches.

Overall, Bolt definitely earned a special place in my home collection of Disney films. Parents and kids alike will enjoy the action, surprise and the moral of the story. I definitely liked the graphics and the special effects. So be sure not to miss Bolt, or it will be gone before you know it!
