A Different Potter
Contributed by: Lena N-M on 8/8/2009

I can proudly declare myself as a Harry Potter geek and was extremely pumped as the premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince drew closer. Were my standards high? Maybe a little bit. But Harry Potter 6 stands apart from all the others in the series because of a few noteable qualities.
The first thing I noticed was the movie was humorous. This was an attribute that I never thought a Potter movie could contain. The cast did an okay job delivering the jokes but the screenwriters words was what made it truly funny.
The special effects were simply stunning and dripping with detail. I am usually one of the people sitting in the back of the theater making fun of the corny special effects, but I could not do that for this movie.
Storyline. They made a few subtle changes to the original plot that J.K. Rowling originally crafted but did not disrupt the core storyline which is always hard not to do. They also made everything suspenseful. At one part, Harry and Dumbeldore are at a lake of Inferi, (dead people that wizards can control) when an Inferi's hand pops out of the lake and drags Harry down. Everyone in the theater screamed at that part.
And finally, romance. Go ahead, groan. But Harry Potter appeals to all ages, including teenagers and romance is an important part of the book, as you learn more about the trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermeione through it.
So I recommend Harry Potter 6. I truly believe it stands apart from all the others.

I didn't like the sixth movie as much as the others.

Wonderful review. I was slightly disappointed by the film itself, I thought they cut out too many details, but they did the best they could.
