Roar With Where the Wild Things Are
Contributed by: Melissa Kaiser on 10/18/2009

You might wonder how anybody can make a book that's only ten sentences long into a full length movie. Somehow Spike Jonze manages to while still staying true to the book. The costumes in this movie are awesome, and they look just like Maurice Sendak's illustrations in the book. The only difference is in the movie they are the real deal that move and talk.

Max is a kid with a bad attitude but a good imagination. These traits don't always help him in the real world, but when he ventures to where the wild things are, he becomes their king. At the beginning of his adventure, he enjoys being with the wild things. However, as time goes by, Max discovers that he misses his real home and his family. Through helping the wild things get along, Max realizes that he has a temper of his very own. He learns how to control it better when he is with them.

You can drift away with Max to where the wild things are. There you'll find Carrell, KW, Judy, and the others having a wild rumpus. If you are as imaginative as Max, you can join in and start gnashing your terrible teeth and roaring your terrible roars.

The best thing about the movie is the fact that you can look into Max's imagination without even leaving your chair. The line from Max that most kids enjoyed was, "FEED ME WOMAN!" I guarantee that you'll eat up this movie. When you go to the movies show those terrible claws and roll your terrible eyes and enjoy the wild rumpus.

Hi, Melissa. First off, if this is your first movie review, it is fantastic. You really showed what the plot was like and I devoured the writing. I would have liked to see more about how you liked the movie, maybe go deeper into that. Otherwise, extraordinary job. Wow. -Isabelle
