What happens when you love to sing but you aren't good at it? You become the Governor.
I had the opportunity to ask a few questions to the Mayor and Governor about their secret sauce for choosing the right career. According to Governor Hickenloper, you should pick a career you are both good at and enjoy. He shared with me though he loves to sing, he is not good at it, so he chose a different path that ended in his becoming the Governor. He also suggested that we study math and science throughout middle and high school. It is important to pick something you like because you need to enjoy what you may be doing for most of your life and you should pick something you are good at because you need to be successful at your career. Studying math and science gives you the opportunity to choose your career.
According to Mayor Hancock you need to be focused, study hard, don't do drugs, stay healthy and always do what your parents tell you to do. You need to be focused in life because that allows you to accomplish your goals. As far as always listening to your parents, I think that piece of advice was given because my dad was standing next to me.
Governor Hickenlooper says, "Don't decide to be a politician, decide that you want to be a great citizen." Weather you want to become an astronaut or a soccer player, the governor and the mayor have great advice to consider.
