Its time to say goodbye to your summer and hello to your new school year. A new school year means a new start, build new goals and go to school with confidence. Remember that we only have to go to school for a quarter of our lives, and the rest of the time is ours. Lets live this year to the expectations we would expect. Here are some tips to making your school year the greatest year of your life.
Keep your head held high walking in the school door. I know you are nervous (everyone is nervous, trust me), but don't let anyone even suspect you are a little worried. Confidence is the key to success.
Make a new friend. A new year means a new start in everything, including friends. The thing is, if you do make new friends, make sure you never ever forget your old ones.
Try a new style for yourself. You might like wearing skinny jeans or the new trend, flare jeans. Don't think Ugh, I have to wear this, think, I get a new look and just look at me, I'm Fabulous.
Smile in the hallways, being excited for school is better then being grumpy about having to wake up for school. Stand up for someone. Today dozens of kids are getting bullied and nobody likes being pointed out for being themselves. So, if you see someone getting bullied, stand up and tell the bully to stop, if you can't stand up, then get someone who can help, like a teacher or friend.
Raise your hand in class. It is okay to raise your hand if you have a question. A lot of people may have the same question and it benefits you in the long run, even if you are wrong, you learn. Don't worry about being called a nerd or a teachers pet, getting good grades means a good life.
Don't stress out with homework. Homework is a killer, but I for one LOVE it. If you get stressed out, paint your nails, focusing on one thing helps. Stretch a minute, getting loose means your stretching your mind, or listen to music to calm your nerves.
There are dozens ways to make this year wonderful, these are just a few ways to let your true self shine through. We all feel the same way, nervous and scared, just remember it's just school. Good luck.
