Gimme an L! Gimme an A! Gimme an M and an E! Whatta you got? A word that describes cheerleading, that's what. Here are few reasons why cheerleaders, and cheerleading, are totally lame. Snob FactorFor some reason, cheerleaders seem to think they're special, just because they cheer for the football team. What's so cool about cheering for someone else? Wearing a dorky uniform and forming a pyramid really isn't that special and it certainly doesn't give them a reason to think they're better than everyone else at school. Lame BrainsLet's face it; the average cheerleader is about as intelligent as the football team's water cooler. Most of their cheers involve counting to three or screaming out lame sentences like "Go, team, go!" They know lots about fixing their hair but after that, there's a big drop off. They Get in the WayCheerleaders' lame stunts and annoying laughs just make it harder for people watching the game to concentrate on the action on the field. It's like trying to play video games while your mom's vacuuming in front of the TV. Most of the time cheerleaders aren't even paying attention to what's going on in the game anyway. I've heard cheerleaders yelling, "S-C-O-R-E," when their team doesn't even have the ball. If cheerleaders insist on showing up to games, they should S-H-U-T U-P. Stupid StuntsWhat's the deal with waving pom-poms and forming pyramids? Thousands of school cheerleaders are injured each year trying to build pyramids or pull off other lame stunts. When the Egyptians made the Pyramids at Giza that was cool. When a bunch of fluffy-brained girls try to form a pyramid by awkwardly standing on top of each other, that's not cool.I think this article is very rude and it offends me a lot. I am a cheerleader and a very good student. Every girl on my team is smart and the complete opposite of lame. A girl in my class says that all you do in cheerleading is throw your hands up and yell stupid stuff at a crowd. I dare her to come to a practice and do half of the stuff we do. For competitive cheerleaders, if you mess up it penalizes the whole team. One wrong move could make the whole team lose. If you yell at us for distracting you yell at the fans next to you. We are as much of a distraction as the fans around you. It takes a lot of courage to get up and have your life in someone's hands, or someone's life in your hands. One of my coaches, Erin Neverette says that the only people who say this are jealous or wish they were cheerleaders. We need a lot of strength to have the right angles, and moves.I disagree with this article. Tell me what you think with a comment. Do you disagree or agree???
