Instagram is a photo app that provides a fun way to connect with family and friends. Created by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger in October 2010. The name Instagram comes from instant cameras and telegrams mashed together. The roots of the name really tells you the benefit of this service. It allows you to instantly communicate through pictures. When you post a picture there is a choice of filters. So, you can be creative and add your own flair to each photo. But if you are concerned with online privacy, don’t worry. You have two privacy options when you sign up for Instagram: private user and public user. A private user only allows the people that you approve can to view your postings. A public user allows everyone who subscribes to Instagram to view your postings. All the photos you take through this application are automatically saved to your camera roll on your phone as well. Right now, the only devices that Instagram works on are Apple related (iPhone, iPad and iTouch). And according to Instagram, the have 90 million monthly users and still growing. briannaw: There is an age limit of 13. In fact, I don't even think there is a 1999 year available to choose from in the sign up. So check with your parents if your in the 2000's.
