I just recently got to go to the annual Main Street Block Party in downtown Littleton. It was fun, but I enjoyed certain things more than others. The main hits of the night were different for different people, but the main attractions were six stages placed throughout the street where lots of good bands played; several magicians and other street performers and entertainers; over fifty old, classic cars, fire trucks, and ambulances that you could walk into or just admire the outsides of; lots and lots of food venders lining the streets; fifty booths outlining the finest of Littleton's merchant supply; and fireworks twice during the evening! As you can see, there was plenty to keep you on your toes and more than enough people to keep you hopping from place to place as fast as you could go. But that didn't keep you from seeing anything, and I saw some pretty old, classic cars. I even got to tour an ambulance to see what the inside was like! And the shops along Main Street were still open as well, so I got to go into a sweets shop and test out a super-large lollipop, the kind that are always in the movies. After that, we (me, my two brothers, and my mom) went around to look at as much stuff as we could before it got dark enough to start the fireworks. We were able to tour the whole street, and saw a man eat fire! He just picked up his four fire sticks, twirled them around and -poof- he ate the fire on them! He kept adding sticks into his mouth, and finally put them out one by one. It was sure fun to watch! Finally, we saw the fireworks display! They were pretty cool, and they each had different features. Some of them ignited after they make their big explosion and lit up all over the sky; some were blasted into different shapes like stars and flowers and circles and others. The grand finally was a bunch of colorful fireworks all blasted into the sky at the same time, which was pretty exciting for my brothers (the big boom they make was a mixture of all of them at once). All in all...... come to the Main Street Block Party next year and see some amazing and exciting things that will blow your mind!
