 The Great American Eclipse of 2017 was a once in a lifetime event. Millions of Americans gathered in the path of totality to witness one of nature’s greatest phenomenon.
My family and I traveled on August 21st to Casper, Wyoming to get in the path of totality. 

Happy 141st Birthday to Colorado! It may be the 38th State, but it’s the first in our hearts. On August 1st, 1876, Ulysses S. Grant admitted Colorado into the Union.

In 1890 Bob Womack discovered gold in Cripple Creek, Colorado. In 1892 Cañon City constructed Shelf Road through a gorge as a stagecoach road to connect the two towns. Back then people were only interested in gold and rode along rock cliffs that looked like a shelf. Today, this super cool place is known for a lot more than gold.

 Moab, Utah is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

In Waiting for Unicorns by Beth Hautala, 12 year old Talia and her physically and mentally faraway father move from Massachusetts to Churchill, a small town hidden in the depths of the arctic. Talia is very angry that she has to spend the whole summer by herself while her father researches whales when she is alone with only a native Inuit woman and a town of strangers for company. Talia is still mourning over the recent death of her mother, but she slowly comes out of her isolation and meets livelong friends.

     The St. Mary’s Glacier trail is a great place to experience the breathtaking sights of a beautiful lake, high mountains, and their sparkling jewel, the St. Mary’s Glacier, without going too far from Denver.

A good way to get away from the hot summer hear is to take a train ride up to Pikes Peak(elevation 14,115 ft).
 

Welcome to the wonderful world of geocaching! Geocaching is a worldwide sport that combines hide-and-go seek with a treasure hunt.

One of most unique theme parks of Colorado, Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, is back in business after a massive fire in June, 2013. It is offering its visitors to experience the beauty of the Royal Gorge and the second highest suspension bridge in the world like never before. You can come on the weekend or holiday and take bus tours around the park and the bridge.

Spectacular hand made snow sculptures will pose in the area near the Riverwalk Center in Breckenridge. The Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships is a free event. This year it will be held January 21-25.

A place where animal lovers and wildlife experts or people who like wildlife will be right at home. As one person working there says, "It's a hidden gem in the city".

 Edwards, Colorado is a town in between Vail and Eagle. They have many things to do in that area, and it is a great place to spend a weekend.
