Pseudonymous Snicket or Lemony Bosch? Avid Readers Beware!

To mystery readers everywhere: some concerning news.

You know of Lemony Snicket, author of the Series of Unfortunate Events, right? You know of Pseudonymous Bosch, author of the Secret Series, right?

In case you don’t, here’s what you need to know: They are both authors of the mystery genre that write under pen names or pseudonyms with very, very similar styles. In fact, they often have similar plot points, use the same words and phrases many times, and take advantage of the same figurative language tools.

Curiously, these authors often have little information about themselves across the internet, and they often don’t show themselves in photographs.

This evidence is what led myself and so many readers across the world to believe that they are the same person! But are they? What do you think?

Avid Readers Beware! This search is about to encounter a crazy plot twist as it is revealed (finally!) who these authors really are.

Lemony Snicket is (drum roll)… Daniel Handler! Most famously recognized for his work under the pseudonym Lemony Snicket, Daniel Handler is an American author born February 28, 1970 in San Francisco, California. He is now married to Lisa Brown, author/illustrator of children’s books.

On a side note, Handler is a supporter of Little Free Libraries, small boxes on poles where you can take and leave books. He supports them in Leawood, Kansas where they are currently banned.

Now to Pseudonymous Bosch, who is (drum roll)… Raphael Simon! Although the internet reveals the true name of this author, there is still no birth date, location, or any other information of the sort regarding Simon. In fact, many book blogs and newspapers have interviewed Simon, who denies his existence as Raphael Simon so as to remain in his pen name character.

This is, my fellow bookworms, is the truth. The whole and very real truth about the identities of these two elusive authors.

This is crazy to me! I am a big fan of both series, and never thought of this connection until today. But now that I have read this, I am beginning to see the connection. WOW!
