“Challenging” and “exciting” are some of the ways the exhibit designer Collin Parson describes the Arvada History museum. The building first stood in 1976 and was transformed by five people; Collin Parson, Jerry Gilmore, William Henning, Bernita Christenson, and an intern named Kristin Bueb. However, this museum is well known for its accessibility. The staff does everything from hang pictures at a height that both abled and disabled can see to put even lighting in accessibility. Nevertheless, one of the most interesting exhibits is the cabin. It is the oldest artifact in the whole museum. In addition, I learned that in that small cabin lived a family of six. However, if that does not interest you there is also a juried watercolor show, galleries, and so much more to learn. And what Collin Parson thinks of the museum? Well he says, “I’m really proud of it and I think it’s going to be a good museum.” So as you can see the ArvadaHistoryMuseum is filled with history, information, and a lot about Colorado’s past.
