Even though school may be starting for some people already, there are still places to go for over the weekend. Places like the museum and art gallery at the Arvada Center, which is fun and educational. On August 17, I went with my Youth Reporter group to tour the museum/art gallery at the Arvada Center. Our tour guide, Collin Parson, led us around and talked about all the exhibits. Exhibits like the art gallery, which is currently featuing a watercolor exhibit.Another exhibit Collin talked about was the Colorado history museum. This part of the museum was just renovated from being one cabin owned by a family named Haines to a historical museum. They still have the original cabin in the museum, which is the most popular attraction. How many people did it take to renovate this historical museum? Just three, of which Collin Parson was one of them. His comment on the renovation of the museum was,”I’m proud of it. It’s my job. It’s fufilling to see empty walls filled up.”This museum currently has approximately 2500 artifacts which were all donated by the Arvada Historical Society. The artifacts tell of Colorado’s colorful history of being a popular place for pioneers and Native Americans. The museum staff also took the time to think about handicapped accessbility. They built ramps and designed the museum to make it easy for not only wheelchair-bound people, but for deaf and blind people, too. This museum is also free, but donations are accepted. So, make Arvada Center’s art gallery and historical museum one of your destinations for if you’re bored over a weekend.

this is a good story, but some people might get a little bored. Try to spice your storys up a bit. (and yes I spelled stories wrong)

  2. Good job!
Good job! Although I do agree with Juliana. If you add really specific words, it will read 10 times better. 🙂 Good job though!
