Going backstage at the new play Miss Nelson is Missing! at the Arvada Center was an exciting time, seeing things that I had never seen before. I saw some painters painting turning a simple piece of plywood into what looked to be like hardwood floors. It may have looked like a floor, but it wasn’t; it was just paint. What also is amazing is that the Arvada Center makes award winning costumes. The make-up room is a sea of lights because the make-up artists have to see any imperfections in the actors’ make-up. That way, when the actors get on stage, they look great. The actors use cordless microphones through the Center’s voice amplification so everyone can hear them in their roles. The actors play many roles even as kids. The play they are doing is different than the book.
