As you walk into the Space Theater at The Denver Center For Performing Arts, you see a setting of a 1942 attic. Everybody sits in their seats anxiously waiting for The Diary of Anne Frank to start. The classic diary of a young girl going through the holocaust with her Jewish family and friends was turned into a play. The play starts with the family entering the “secret annexe”, where they will be living for the next twenty five months. As the play continues the audience is captivated by the acting, lights and realistic sounds of air raid sirens and the haunting sounds of a train taking the Jewish people to concentration camps. The characters are so vivid you could feel the emotion and stress of staying hidden from the Nazis. The Diary of Anne Frank will be playing at the Space Theater in the Denver Center For Performing Arts November 9- December 15. For more information or tickets call 303-893-4100.
