Shining Stars by Russ are advertised as a new and creative way to enjoy a computer game with a furry stuffed animal! Instead of buying a regular stuffed animal toy, with Shining Stars the manufacture’s tag can be cut off to reveal a secret code. This code allows you to name your own personal star in the sky and allows you to make your stuffed animal friend come alive on the computer. During the game you can go to the Shining Starcade where you can earn star points. Star points are like money. Going to the Starcade can be disappointing because there is not much to do. After you click on the Starcade, you can go shopping and try to use your Star points to ‘buy’ starcool outfits and furniture. This could be a great game, but it is very hard to play. There are obstacles to face when you play. It is difficult to figure out how to move around or how to buy things for your Shining Stars. The animals are similar to Webkinz, but the computer games are not as well designed as Webkinz. The animalshadfurs that felt different. Some were very soft, like the dog and penguin, while others, like the cat, were scratchy and hard to cuddle with. Overall, while fun to try, they were not something that I would play with often.Name of Toy: Russ Shining Stars Company: Russ Type of Toy: Stuffed animals with access to computer games Age recommendation: 7 – 10 years
