Amazing Trip To Washington D.C.

Jenni Holthus writes, Washington D.

Washington D.C. was a great place. I went there May 2008 as a school trip, it was amazing. We saw many of the monuments and museums. I think the coolest part of my experience was seeing The Yorktown Battlefield. It got close to my heart because I was walking where soldiers fought, and died for our freedom. Being my first trip on an airplane was exciting. We arrived at the airport in Denver at 4:00 A.M. it was a hectic 1 and 1/2 hours until we boarded the airplane. We arrived at Washington Dulles at about 11:15 A.M. (their time.)After grabbing our luggage we boarded our bus. The bus was like a tour bus with two seats on each side of the bus and an isle in the middle. It was a three hour bus ride to our hotel. After unpacking we boarded the bus again. We were in the bus for about one hour and arrived at Bush Gardens Amusement Park. After the long stay at the amusement park we went back to the hotel. The next days sort of blurred together: One of the seven days in WashingtonD.C. we went to Monticello and Mt. Vernon. They were both amazing and beautiful. I think my favorite part was being able to see where the presidents actually lived. We also went to see the White House, the Capital, and the monuments. The White House was an amazing experience. While we were there, a man had a tent built and had many signs attached to the tent. The funny thing was, he LIVED there, outside of the White House, in a tent, with his dog! I would like to tell you more about my experience, but to finish it would take days. I hope you enjoyed reading about my amazing trip. Please comment.
