Underwater – a bubbly tale

Jessica Cardall writes, I enjoyed Underwater by Debbie Levy.

I enjoyed Underwater by Debbie Levy. The book is about a sixth grade boy named Gabe. He is the middle child. His older brother Jake has a few problems, such as a learning disability. Gabe has a hard time fitting in. He loves to swim, play his underwater video games, and watch his fish in their aquarium. These interests teach Gabe to try and dive below his problems and not let things get to him. I found the characters believable and the circumstances realistic, however I thought several situations in the book were predictable, there weren’t any surprises. I would recommend this 155 page, Darby Creek Publishing book for ages eight and up.
