Thoughts on reclaiming the American dream, it says it on the front cover, but what does it mean? This book The audacity of hope by Barack Obama gives us the most clear understanding of the phrase. Within 362 captivating pages, he gives us a look into his life, the lives of Americans, and how we look at the world. Barck Obama, is a Democrat, but in his book he explains why, and what led him to his conclusions about the world. What do you think of when you hear the world politics? A large majority of people hear politics and come up with one word in their heads… boring! It says in the book, “politics is hardly a science, and too infrequently depends on reason”. This quote explains that politics is not as many of us think it is, it is not, boring and intellectual, in fact, in politics, it is too often that “the facts” aren’t even from any known rational source. I would rate this book a four out of five, only because the language used in the book was very hard to understand, and was confusing at some points. Barack Obama has also written one other book, Dreams from my father, it is his autobiography. This book impacted my life dramatically, hopefully it will do the same to yours!
