Have the presidential campaigns inspired your life? If so this story is just for you. According to some, the election this year has already inspired more than 300 million people. I believe this campaign is the best so far because it makes history. Hilary Clinton opened the nomination for other women, and Barrack Obama opened the nomination for other African Americans and people of color. Plus the Democratic National Convention (DNC) is being held here in Denver, Colorado .There are so many people that have helped to put on this convention and one of the most influential leaders is Leah Daughtry, the CEO for the 2008 Democratic National Convention Committee. She is also a pastor in Washington D.C. Ms. Daughtry has been working with the DNC, members of the Denver community and her convention management team to create this year’s convention. If you are wanting to get involved with the DNC you should talk to your parents, teachers, or your principal to see if you can visit the DNC as a field trip. If you do, you should go to caucuses, which are open to the public, or attend one of the 1,500 DNC events. You may also get involved by volunteering. To do so, you should sign up at www.Demconvention.com. If you can not get in to the DNC, I encourage you to watch it on your television or your computer. With this convention being held in Denver just weeks away, you should get involved with some part of the DNC. Remember, your involvement will be making history that we are able to live in and enjoy.Alan CampbellColorado Kids and DNC reporter-Colorado
