What do you call a boy who has a human mother and Greek god for a dad? A half blood or demigod. Seems unreal right? Not for Percy Jackson in the New York Times bestselling series, Percy Jackson & the Olympians. Once he finds out the secret that his dad is really a Greek god, and a powerful one at that, he and his mom are put in danger. He and his mom are in so much danger that Percy gets sent away to a camp just for half bloods where he meets his new friends, Annabeth and Grover. At this camp, Percy learns the skills he will need to defeat the Titans and fight monsters. As Percy endures his summers at this camp, the dangers grow and so do a prophecy that could put Percy in an inescapable situation. In the four books in this page turning series that combines fantasy and learning Greek mythology, friends will become enemies, heroes will be rescued and people will be found after being lost for thousands of years. The minute I read the first page of this book, I was drawn in just like many other readers to not only the interesting plot, but also to the humor and sarcasm that is used by Percy and other characters. I would definitely recommend this book to people that are eight and up. I think that this book can even be read by adults because my dad is reading the first book, The Lightning Thief, and I know that other adults are reading it too. I think that Percy Jackson & the Olympians is a great back to school read for elementary students and middle school students alike.Book Grades#1 The Lightning Thief: A#2 The Sea of Monsters: A-#3 The Titans Curse: A-#4 The Battle of the Labyrinth: A +Basic InformationTitle: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titans Curse, The Battle of the LabyrinthAuthor: Rick RiordanPublisher: Hyperion Books for Children
