Run Ralphie Run! Ralphie is the Colorado buffaloes mascot. On Novermber 8th 2008, the Colorado Buffaloes took on Iowa State Cyclones. You couldn’t pick a more beautiful day to see football. Our principal, Mr. Linton had a great idea. Every student that didn’t get a refocus (a refocus is not being respectful, responsible, and safe) in school would get a free CU ticket. The parents were able to go by purchasing extra tickets so they could share the experience with there kids. My brother Tommy and I got the free tickets. In addition to the tickets we also got free bus ride, free lunch (hot dog and drink), and a CU cut out finger. WOW! When we got to Folsom Field I saw a lot of pop up tents that were giving out free t-shirts and food. One was even giving free back rubs. We got there a hour early so we could see everything, it looked like half the fans had the same idea. The stadium was huge and beautiful. The grass was so green. You could see Ralphie and his handlers below getting ready for the big run. After the great CU Marching Band performed our National Anthum it was time for the game. You could see and here the stadium come to life with the great Rocky Mountain roar. My school was so exsited I don’t think we sat down once. I asked my friend Marie, what she thought of the game. She said “It’s fantastic”. My uncle Scott said ” Iowa State is going to win”. BOOOO! It looked like CU might not win this game in the first half, and the kicker was having trouble doing his job. The game was great, but the best part was the last five minuts. We were behind, got ahead, and held then off all in the last minutes. WHAT A GAME! Colorado 28, Iowa State 24. I would like to thank CU dept for letting schools go to the games for a great price and my school for giving us this great reward.
