Veterans and war.

(please note parts of this are controversial and it was a school report of mine) Day after day, soldiers are dying in Iraq, being held P.O.W and M.I.A. We should all honor our soldiers, more than anyone else. They knew the sacrifice, (life) and were willing to give it when they entered our Army. I can’t think of anyone else that I would hold with greater respect than our American troops, and veterans, because their life was less important, than their country. While we sit in our houses, comfortable and supported; our soldiers are fighting for us. Our country, some say, has hit rock bottom. Well, okay than. If that’s what you believe than you are more than welcome to pay a visit to a third-world country. Come back and finally, you will see what we have. If it wasn’t for our veterans we just might be like Iraq. A favorite song of mine, “where were you when the world stopped turning?” by Alan Jackson sings, “Did you Burst out with pride for the red white and blue? And the heroes who died? just doing what they do? Did you look up to heaven for some kind of answer, and look at yourself, and what really matters?” On that tragic day, I think that it made us want to be thankful for what we have. Thousands of lives lost. I just shake my head at the people want to stop the war. Look at how many husbands and wives, sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, and even little children, were lost! There are actually people that want us to stop fighting! Tell that to the social workers, and children in the day care, that were killed by these people. Kind of makes you want to go over there yourself huh? This is where our veterans and troops come in. They have served us. As John F. Kennedy once said “Ask not what your country can do for you; but what you can do for your country,” inspirational words. Now, if I’m not mistaken, this isn’t the best time to take god out of the Pledge of Allegiance. So, lets show some respect. Take off your hat, place your hand over your heart and honor the Veterans that sacrificed their lives for ours.

  1. I strongly disagree.
I strongly disagree. Yes, people should respect the soldeirs who risked/lost their life for war, but it depends on what the soldiers are fighting for. Most of the people that want the soldiers out of the war is because we are losing their lives very quickly. There is always a time to stop fighting, to protect the lives of soldiers that could still be lived.

  2. The world is cruel…
The world is cruel, and we should respect our soldiers, but I think people should stop fighting, look around, and return home before they die. P.S. I couldn’t really understand what you were trying to say.

  3. I agree with both Carolin…
I agree with both Caroline and Lindsay. It is kind of hard to figure out what you are trying to say. I think you should maybe seperate your different topics into seperate paragraphs so it’s more organized and easy to understand. I think no onen can really fully agree with this paragraph because we all have differet views and opinions. It’s great that you stand up and arent afraid to share what you beleive in. But reading your responding to negativty article, you have to expect all these disagreements. This is a highly biased or opinionated paragraph so a lot of people are going to disagree with you. But you have to expect that becasue everyone ahs a different opinion on practically everything. very strong paragraph good job!
