School is just around the corner and it’s time for shopping; supplies, clothes, locker decoration, etc. There is a bunch of new items out this year, but hold on, your mom isn’t going to let you get that 50$ jacket you wanted or the 90$ shoes you had your eye on. Here is what to do and still get new clothes without spending money. I can give you three ideas that are sure to help. Number one: “shop your sibling”. I have an older brother, who is 4 years older than me. I am always asking him if he has outgrown or doesn’t want any of his t-shirts or shorts. I have 3 pairs of his shorts and a few t-shirts. Sometimes they don’t always fit, so I just tie up the extra with a hair-tie and then tuck the “tail” in. I also tie up the sleeves or cut up the sides then tie it back together, to make them fit.Number two: “neighbor trade”. Trade something for some clothes. One time I traded a table for a pair of shorts! So obviously, you don’t have to trade clothes for clothes, you can find something you don’t need and ask if a neighbor has any clothes that they would like to trade you for the item.Number three; “Friendly clothes swap”. Now this one I haven’t tried, but I definitely recommend, because it’s bound to work. Get a group of friends of maybe 4 or 5 and ask them all to meet at your house and bring a bag of clothes they don’t want or maybe outgrew. Then you can all swap or trade your clothes. These ideas maybe don’t grantee brand new clothes or designer styles, but they’ll help you receive new clothes to you. I hope one of these ideas will work for you and then when school comes around you will have something different in your closet.
