By: AlexSandra Raburn Mystery Stallion is about two girls, Sophie and Liv or Olivia. They spend their spring break in Arizona. Both girls love horses and are thrilled to meet their grandparents who they heard about. They talked about this trip one year but now they are face to face with rattlesnakes, and javelinas, as they search for their grandfather’s lost herd. Diego (grandfather’s most priced horse) is badly injured and Sophie has a rattlesnake bite (a dry one no poison). I like the adventure in this book, but with everything going on, sometimes it was hard to tell what was happening. I would recommend this book for 4th grade and up, because some of the words were hard for me! But mostly the Mexican words- some of them were hard to pronounce. I would also recommend, Heartland: true enough, Misty of Chincoteague, and Ponies at the Point. They are like them (I would know I own them all!).
