While you’re setting up the christmas tree, you don’t think about what, when, or why christmas came to be. Well now, it’s time to wonder. About 75% of americans are christian, and if you’re one of those 75% you might know why we celebrate christmas. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of christ. According to the bible, christ was born over 2,000 years ago in the year 000 b. c. (before christ). Christmas was so popular, that non-christians started celebrating this festive holiday, even if they didn’t know why. The celebration of christmas started with worship of christ. when immigrants came over, they broughtculture with them. An example is that the Germans brought over the tradition of the christmas tree, and the British brought Santa.
