The True Meaning of Christmas

Leah Shaull writes, To me…

To me, the true meaning of Christmas isn’t about getting the biggest present that does’t fit under the tree or the most presents that take up all of the space under the tree. To me, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. It’s about being around the ones you love and those who love you. If you’ve ever read the book “The Christmas Sweater” by Glenn Beck, you might understand what I’m saying. Eddie had to learn that it wasn’t all about the bike, it was about being around loved ones while he still had them and cherishing Jesus Christ for what he’s done for us. Like when you get that warm feeling when putting up the tree and other decorations, the same loving feeling you get when you see all of your friends and family Christmas day. That’s really what Christmas is about. Even if your mother handmakes you a hideous sweater, you still love it because you know your mom worked so hard on it. It’ll always have many sentimental values. She made it specially for you because she loves you and she always will. All of your true friends and family will always love you for you. The presents are just a little extra way to say it. That’s what I think Christmas is truly about.
