Having reviewed Disney’s highly acclaimed movie,The Princess and the Frog, it only seemed fit to analyze the DVD and Blu-Ray combo pack. Even if you saw the movie while it was in theaters or if you didn’t get a chance to view it, now is your opportunity to witness Disney history! Nominated for three Academy Awards, The Princess and the Frog will delight any Disney newcomer or veteran. Tiana has worked hard all her life just to buy a run-down sugarmill and turn it into a five-star restaurant. When things seem to be going just right, a frog named Naveen claims he is a prince. Based on the classic fairy tale, the two of them kiss and are sent on a wild journey throughout New Orleans and the nearby bayous. The Princess and the Frog Three Disc Combo Pack includes a Blu-Ray disc, along with a DVD disc. Also included is a Digital Copy of the movie, that you can upload to your computer or your iPod and take it wherever you go. The Blu-Ray edition gives the audience a chance to look at what happens behind the scenes at Disney’s animation studios. The Deleted Scenes option shows sections of the movie or alternate scenes that didn’t make it to the final cut. The Making of a Princess feature talks with the animator who brought Tiana to life. Conjuring the Villain chats with Bruce Smith (who I met) about how his creativity and ability to draw make it possible to create a voo-doo shadowman. The Return to Hand-Drawn Animation shows viewers how simple sketches of characters can lead to an award-winning production. Along with those features, the Blu-Ray also includes sections called Disney’s Newest Princess, which gives people an inside look at the latest damsel in distress, and Bringing Life to Animation, which shows how real-life actors can have a big impact on animation. Also included is the Princess Portraits Game, where viewers can select Disney princesses from the past and correctly match them with their dilemmas. Even if you don’t have a Blu-Ray player, the DVD edition is still full of interesting features that will delight you and your family. Included is Audio Commentary by the Filmmakers and Writers John Musker and Ron Clements, deleted scenes, the Princess Portraits Game and a Music Video by Ne-Yo.Overall, the combo pack is perfect for anybody. Watch the movie in high definition with the Blu-Ray or DVD or download it to your computer and take it on a road trip.
