Getting Fit

If you didn’t already know, Michelle Obama started a campain trying to decrease the amount of childhood obiesidy in the U.S.A. called, Let’s Get Moving.Just as both an experiment and as a way to live a healthier lifestyle,I’ve started both working out and eating healthier. I get up very early, get a small body fueling snack and we head off to the gym. Once we are at the gym, we start out with some weight lifting. My dad is like me and my mom’s personal trainer. He knows all of the workouts and he always knows which set and rep we’re on. Lifting usually takes 30 minutes except on leg days when it takes 45 minutes because it’s a larger set of muscles. After lifting, we then do 1 abdominal excersize and then it’s on to the treadmill. We do at least 30 minutes of non-stop running each day and usually that puts us at a 2-3 mile average for that time period. It’s hard but it feels good in the end. My family and I started getting really into it in Febuary though we’d been going since Christmas. My dad, our true motivator, didn’t start going to our gym (Fitness 19)yet, he went to a body building gym. Once hecame, thework outreally intensified. What really got the three of us into it was really just my dad continuing what he had always done, workout. That’s probrably why he is our big motivator. I’m extremely grateful that I have a happy, healthy, motivated family to wake up to each day. Believe it or not, I’ve never actually been on a real team in anything except drama. My parents had been working out for a few years before me and I started feeling sluggish about being the only one in the entire family who hadn’t been very athletic. Now I am happier and healthier than ever. Also to stay healthy, I eata diet with lots of protien and fiber and other fantastic vitamins, minerals and nutrients. Thiswill keep youenergetic and happy. Also, believe it or not, studies have shown that living healthier will help improve school grades! Also try packing your lunch. Not only will it be healthier, but it will be what you like, and it’ll save money!! If you took your daily lunch money to the grocery store, you could buy up to 2 or 3 homemade lunches!! Living healthier is easy to do but you’ll also be amazed with how much energy you’lll have. It’s truly the best way to live!
