February 23, 2010 was a day most students like me at Deer Creek Middle School would never forget. It was like any other day starting at 7:15. I was in World Languages at that time. I went on to second, third, fourth, lunch, fifth, and sixth periods. One the bell rang at 2:37 I was sitting on a stool in my access or study hall class waiting for the bell to ring. One of my friends Chase I and ask if we can go clean out are lockers and our teacher gave us the okay. We weren’t really going to clean our lockers, we were really going to get ready to leave since we only had three minutes till the end bell would ring at 3:00. Right as the bell rang my locker shut. I thought wow what a coincidence. One of my other friends and I were walking through the main hall ready to leave the building and head home. When I walked out of the school I said ‘Hi” to one of my friends outside. I was going to wait for another friend but I decided not to, luckily. I walked to my car and said the usual to my mom, “Hey,” “Let’s go!” When I pulled into my driveway and all of a sudden I heard a swarm of sheriff sirens. I thought to myself, wow there must be either a huge robbery or a shooting. I was right. When I walked into my house I went straight upstairs to get my laptop. I then turn on the TV and try to find something to watch. All of a sudden my mom screams, “Collin! Get in here!” That was it, she was speechless. I then get up off the couch and run into the kitchen, and BAM!!!! All across the screen was “Shooting at Littleton School!” “Two shot” “Deer Creek Middle School.” I couldn’t say anything and I knew why my mom couldn’t either. I then run to my computer and see if I could find out who was shot. All I could find was that it was two eighth graders.
