Do your summer plans include taking a picture with a peacock? What about finding a stuffed polka dotted pig? No?! Well, for two of my friends and me it does. At the beginning of the summer we all got together and went to a movie. After it was over, we realized our summers were all pretty busy and between camps, vacations, and other activities we wouldn’t see much of each other. This troubled me, and I was thinking of some way we could all stick together. Suddenly it was as if an energy saving light bulb went off and shone through the cobwebs. The more I thought of it the more I enjoyed it. I suggested it to my friends and they seemed excited too. A scavenger hunt. We would create and accomplish a scavenger hunt. This way we could be an ocean apart, literally, yet still have the same goals: such as go somewhere wearing a cape. Eliza and I, thinking hard and texting Ren (who was not able to make it) came up with 36 things to do before the season of freedom came to a close. It was then my job to turn our six sticky notes into an actual checklist. I printed off three copies and wrote three sets of directions then hand delivered them to Eliza and Ren keeping one for myself. So far I have done 18 things, that is half of the things on our hunt. I’m striving to do all. How to write your own1. Find a group of willing friends. 2. Get together and come up with fun, wacky, entertaining things to do. It can be long or short. 3. Type up the list and give to all participants. 4. Come up with just a few rules to explain and restrain: deadline, proof, etc. 5. Start accomplishing tasks and have the best of times. 6. Sometime after your deadline all get together and share your pictures and stories. 7. Never forget how fun it was.
