Justice was served today as the former head of the Jeffco Children’s Alliance received her sentence, stemming from recent theft and forgery convictions.Accordign to Lisa Carman, a former member of the Jeffco Chilren’s Alliance’s board, Cheryl Fugett was sentenced to two years work release, ten years probation and is prohibited from dealing with company financials and non-profit organizations. This was ruled July twenty-seventh, by Judge Phillip McNulty in Jefferson County Court after both Fugett’s victims and supporters shared their individual perspectives in the case. The Jeffco Children’s Alliance was an important non-profit organization which worked in tandem with law enforcement, to provide aid and justice to children who were victims of abuse in Jefferson County. Due to Fugett’s actions, the Board of Directors decided that it was necessary to dissolve the organization. The Board transferred control of all assets to the Ralston House, a separate children’s advocacy center in Jefferson County, intending to continue their previous services and support to child victims throughout Jefferson County.Fugett has been prosecuted for her crimes and children are still being helped by the Ralston House. Thanks to Lisa Carman for this information.
