The Adams 12 school district is not allowing kids in Homestead Hills subdivision to ride a bus to Rocky Top Middle School. Kids will have to take a 1.9 mile walk down the daring busy road of 136 th.
They will also have to cross railroad tracks, walk on a narrow slab of asphalt, and face the dangers of many cars. Allie Crowe is a 6th grader who goes to Rocky Top Middle school. She will be having to walk to school." I just don't think it's safe for us to be walking alone without adult supervision," Allie told me.
Lots of parents don't have time to drive kids to school due to work and money. Many parents will be affected by this.
One solution by the parents is paying for private bussing because most kids would be walking to school! This bussing cost is $11.25 a week. Which could could cost us half of our allowance because of how expensive it is to our parents! In addition, Homestead Hills will be sharing a bus with Park Village, another community. Thanks to private bussing! All the kids will have a safe ride to school.
