Buena Vista's signature festival remembering the town's Western and the mining people of the olden days started off Saturday, 14 and continued until the 15. There were over 100 vendors and booths filled with food, crafts, merchandise, and of course, fun. I attended both of those lovely day, and it was perfect weather too.

On the 15th they had the burro race. What you do is pretty much self explainable. Have a grip on your burro, run as fast as you can, and hope you win! I think they do this because in the olden days what the people used as 'cars' were burros. You also can 'borrow' a burro. Haha. Most of the burros that were being raced were like dogs, right behind them. Others were like where you had to pull them.

This festival comes up once a year, every year so I hope you all can come next year because it is a fun-filled activity for the whole family!
