The New West Fest Bohemian Nights- themed festival in Downtown Oldtown attracts many from all over; adults and kids from Friday, August 20th to Sunday, August 22nd. 70 stages are scattered all over to give out surround-sound music to everybody all day. Bands such as The Flobots, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and The Legendary Earl Scruggs & Friends performed all weekend long. ” I like how they bring local bands together on one big stage,” says Ben Prochazka from the band Futaba. Prochazka has been an artist at the New West Fest for a year and a half. Food, games, music, and rides make this wonderful festival so exciting. It is free to the public, and happens every year. It is Fort Collin’s largest community event and has been going on for 22 years. I visited Oldtown on Saturday, August 21st, and I definitely enjoyed it. Whether you are 4 years old or 40, you will have a great time at this annual celebration. ” I enjoy the fun games and rides at the New West Fest. I went last year and I really liked it,” says Naomi Cruz, age 10. “We like the music and the magicians. The New West Fest is also great publicity for our business, Lyric,” shares Elizabeth and Ben Mozer. They come to The New West fest every year, and every year they have a great time. The New West Fest is a kid-friendly enviorment and is a great place to relax and have a lot of fun. For more information, go to Bohemiannights.org or www.DowntownFortcollins.com.
