I have to get braces, but not yet, I have to get other things done first. Those things include *a spacer* separators*molds, yuck!A spacer is an appliance that goes in the roof of your mouth and along the bottom of your teeth. It helps space your teeth out and, make your teeth more U shaped instead of V shaped. A spacer also helps make it so that you don't have to get teeth extracted, which hurts!Seperators, which look like tiny rubber bands, go on a couple weeks before the actual metal spacers. These, tiny rubber band separator, separate, your teeth so it's easier to get the metal spacers in later. These do cause pain since they are separating your teeth. I recommend Tylenol and soft foods, as they can hurt!

Molds are…. gross, and you have to get them done quite often. They are a thick mixture that go in a tray and the orthodontist or dental assistant puts them on your top and bottom teeth and they have to set for one minute. They have a very little mint taste and make it hard to breath while they are setting.

You might have to do all this stuff before you get your braces. The spacers have to stay on for about four months, or possible less time. This depends on how fast your teeth make room in your mouth..If you have to get braces you may have to do the some of these same things that I am having to do. If you're scared, it's okay, after all in the end you'll have a beautiful smile!
