Something To Sing About

Julia Foran writes, Sunday…

Sunday, September 12th, hundreds of people gathered at the Red Rocks Ampitheater to see Celtic Woman, an Irish music group. The group consists of four girls: Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary, and Mairead Nesbitt. All originated from Ireland. They sing Irish Celtic music with beautiful harmonies, gorgeous dresses, and the fiddler Mairead Nesbitt adds spice and flair to the music that makes you want to jump on your feet! They sang songs in the Irish language, ‘Danny Boy’, and ‘You Raise Me Up’ is one of their best songs. They have varieties of instruments such as bagpipes, drums, guitars, piano, and fiddle. They really connected with the audience, and people sang along with the music and marveled at harmonies. All in all, it was a great performance. I encourage everyone to watch a video of their performances, they’re extremely talented. Sadly, this was their closing concert of the summer season, and their 197th performance this year! It was a great way to end the season!!
