GIANTmicrobes ® is a company that makes the craziest, zaniest, and wackiest things EVER. They are stuffed, microscopic things from inside the body, except over 1,000,000 times bigger! Most people wouldn't want to snuggle up with the cold or Martian life, but these little "things" sell very well.

Take the flu, for instance. It's a green, fuzzy, cuddly, stuffed "creature" that has eyes. It is just like it says on the GIANTmicrobes® Flu page: "Don't let his cute looks fool you!"

It all started with one young man working very hard, and that man is Drew Oliver. To start, he had to research the microbes. Then there was how to design them. Factories that would make them. Identifying and selling to channels to advertise. He came up with the idea in December of 2000, and was incorporated in January of 2002, but their first sale wasn't until June 2002. At first, GIANTmicrobes® was in Chicago, IL, but in 2004, moved to Stamford, CT. The first ever GIANTmicrobe® was the Common Cold. GIANTmicrobes® are entertaining and educating at the same time. They also make good "get well" presents.

They have many stuffed animals. Most of them are viruses, "virus-stoppers", and bacteria, but there are also small critters like ants and amoeba, and things I don't know how to classify like algae.

Some have animated characters. 5 of them are featured in this video: "WeDon'tWanttoGetCaught" By: Sniffles (CommonCold), Dr. Larkin (Flu), Ahhhhhhhhh-lbert (SoreThroat), Bellie (StomachAche) andtheFatCell. They make a lot of other funny products such as key chains, neckties, and even someone's mornin' cup'o'coffee. Some of the favorite microbes are the Common Cold, the Brain Cell, the Bed Bug, the E. Coli, and the Mad Cow (each Mad Cow has its own design!
