Your Daily Corn Diet

Have you ever wondered how much corn do I eat every day? You probably haven't.

Have you ever wondered how much corn do I eat every day? You probably haven't.

· Breakfast. The first meal of the day. After you wake up you are normally pretty hungry, leading to you eating a big bowl of cereal or something like that. The thing is a lot of cereals have high fructose corn syrup which is made with of 44% glucose and 54% fructose, (both made out of corn) high fructose corn syrup is a sweetener so if the cereal isn't sweetened it probably doesn't have high fructose corn syrup in it. Another corn product in some cereals is corn flour. Corn flour would probably be in any cereals like Captain Crunch™ or Apple Jacks. So now hopefully you have a picture of how much corn you eat just in the beginning of the day.

· Lunch. In the middle of the day. This meal is much harder to explain than breakfast (because there are so many things possible to eat at lunch.) So I am just going to look at a few popular lunches. Lunchables™: we are going to look at the Turkey and cheddar stackers. Some corn in this lunch is modified corn starch and high fructose corn syrup. There is also dextrose (dextrose doesn't always have to be corn but can be.) Another thing I am going to look at is Smucker's Uncrustables ™, which have high fructose corn syrup, dextrose and corn syrup. Along with a lot of other really bad ingredients.

· Dinner. The last meal of the day. Dinner is just as hard as lunch because you could have something completely homemade and corn free or you could have a packaged dinner with a lot of corn in it. What I am going to show you is a Swanson chicken pot pie. Here are all the corn products in this dinner:1) Corn Starch2) Xanthan Gum and3) Caramel Color.

Hopefully now you see how much corn you eat every day if you want more information I would highly recommend the book "The Omnivores Dilemma" by Michael Pollan.
