Romeo is a mountain lion. He was found tied up in a man's garage. He nows lives in the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, Colorado. My school, Mackintosh Academy in Littleton adopted him. This means we get a picture of him and his shelter gets $240 to take care of him for a year. We collected enough money by having the first graders doing a store. They sold things to other students. We also did something called "penny wars". With penny wars we put pennies in our own classes' jars and we put nickels, dimes, quarters and dollars in other classes' jars. That way those classes go down and our own go up. We have a student council at my school, and I was in it.

The student council went and visited him. He is the heaviest and biggest mountain lion in the sanctuary. He weighs 270 pounds. He lives in a cage with grass and he was eating meat. I appreciate that the Wild Animal Sanctuary does this, because they are saving wild animals, like tigers, wolves and a camel. We are happy to support their work and the animals.
