Deep in Estes Park, one of Colorado's national landscapes is home to the scariest hotel in Colorado. Possibly even the world. The Stanley Hotel.
Deep in Estes Park, one of Colorado's national landscapes is home to the scariest hotel in Colorado. Possibly even the world. The Stanley Hotel. This great building was made in 1909, a 138 guest room building… but rarely do people stay the entire night.
Heard of "The Shining"? Writer Stephen King stayed in room #217, the book and movie was based off how he felt and what he went through while staying in this hotel. Some was imagination but he wasn't the only one to travel to the Stanley and never look back.
Room #401, people who stay here tend to see the old soul of Lord Dunraven. He seems to really enjoy the closet but the guest…not so much. Some people believe this lord is just a myth, others pread different.
If those two weren't enough to freak you out then listen to this. Lucy, she used to live in the basement under the concert hall. It became freezing down there sometimes. Imagine Colorado during a blizzard and you sitting outside in your swimsuit. You'd freeze right? Well she did. Lucy's body was found by hotel employee's. Its believed she is a ghost who likes ghost stories and if you tell one she might just show herself but she never leaves the area of the concert hall.
There have been many more reports and sightings of events involving the paranormal. If you don't believe me then see for yourself. The hotel gives ghost tours several times a month. http://www.stanleyhotel.com/tours.html
