"Imagine Artist" is a superb game for all who love to draw and paint. With each lesson you learn certain techniques and ways to draw and paint. When you start out, the lessons are easy and as you progress, they become more difficult. There are mini-games to help you with what you are learning, such as shading or dexterity.
The first week, you cover the basics of art. On day one, you draw a cardinal. Day two, you paint a cardinal (not the one you drew). The third day you draw a butterfly and then paint it. On day four you trace butterfly stencils then paint the butterflies. On the final day of week one you make a peace collage for a peace rally.
The second week you "learn" how to paint flowers. The first day you create a poster of tulips. On the second day you will learn how to shade a sunflower. The third day you will use a sponge to paint a sunflower. On day four you will learn how to paint a rose. The last day of week two you will create a flower bouquet.
The third week you will draw animals using shading. You will draw a two cats' head, a horse's head, a bird, and draw a horse.
The fourth week you will paint still life. You will paint a watermelon, banana, apple, a tonal still life, and still life portrait.
In the fifth week you will cover landscapes. The landscapes you will paint are mountains, clouds, distant trees and a mixed landscape.
The last week you will paint people. First you will paint a nose, then a mouth, next an eye, and finally a face.
This game is best for ages 8 and up. With a Nintendo DSi you can paint pictures based on ones you have taken.
