Saddle up and head on down the National Western Stock Show!! Every year, Denver hosts the NWSS. Some people can hardly wait; they shove on their boots and Wrangler Jeans and out the door they go. For others, they stay home; no bull riding, fire jumping, Quarter Horse Judging, or any of the other unforgettable events for them. The Show has a huge schedule of creative and exciting events.
Some people don't care for the Stock Show or the events, while other people love it all. "I saw the other day when they marched cattle down 17 th Street. It's pretty cool," shared Marty Manfre. For the people who go, they all have different thoughts about the Stock Show. Some people are strict no's while others are all out yes's, and of course there are the people in between, like Margie Manfre. "I've seen it on TV and some events I don't care for."
Between all Stock Show fans, there is debate over favorite events. "The rodeo, why isn't it my favorite event??" stated Sydney Graige. Vicente Miranda disagreed with his favorite event. "The place where you pet the little animals like sheep, goats…goats…definitely goats, and… a chicken!! Oh, because it's so much fun, and you can feel the fur."
For some people the favorite event is not about petting zoos or rodeos. Some spectators like the more comical events , like Willy Land. "The place where the clowns come in because they are funny 'cause they are supposed to be distracting the bulls."
"My favorite event is the free-reining because it was put to music and they could do whatever they want and there were costumes," Emma Hartmann conveyed.
"My favorite was when they had all those routines with the horses. It was really awesome because they were doing all complex stuff horses normally wouldn't do," Aelora Kolacz spoke. Not everybody is crazy about the Stock Show. Some people could care less about it. "I don't like the smell. I don't like the things to do, I don't like horses or any of the other animals," snapped Marisha Manfre when she was asked the question why she doesn't like the Stock Show. When Miranda Manfre was asked if she was a fan of the Stock Show, she thought carefully then answered, "No, not really."
The National Western Stock Show is a Denver tradition you don't want to miss out on!!
